Olive Cowl / Neckwarmer

Description

Fall is my absolute, hands down, favorite season. Pulling out the Autumn colored sweaters and cords and scarves! The evening chill! Crisp red apples! And delicious butterscotch and caramel. This is the latest addition to my Fall 2009 cowls: a super cozy multifunctional accessory knit up in one of Fall's definitive shades: a rich, warm olive!

I hand knit this cowl/neckwarmer using a deliciously chunky wool blend in a delicious rich olive or golden-green color. I used a stitch creating diagonal texture and depth, with a smooth and rounded edging. I added two generous czech glass buttons to close. These buttons are incredible! A dark bronzey green, with intricate sworls and flowers, and a lovely iridescent shimmer!

A cozy 28" (71.12 cm) long and 9" (22.86 cm) wide. The buttons are just small enough (1.25" or 3.17 cm) to slip between stitches, making this one size fits most, and allowing endless versatility. This handsome warmer is lightweight, despite its size, but is sure to keep you toasty warm, while super cool, with any of your Fall or Winter outfits. It's large enough to wear over a thick turtle or cowl neck!

Need a different size? Shorter? Wider? I'm very happy to knit this for you in different size - just let me know your sizing needs. (I may need to use different buttons for different sizes, though, since these buttons are the only pair I currently have.)

Handwash in cool or cold water using a gentle wash or shampoo, and dry flat. Also dry cleanable. NOT machine washable - the buttons would be destroyed in a washing machine! If you treat this well, it will treat you well for years and years to come.
