Kiss Me Honey, Honey

Description

Pendant made from silver and found objects, reflecting the loss of honeybees from the British countryside.

The top section is made from a discarded beer-bottle top found in a field in Sussex, set in silver with a bronze back-plate which shows through a honeycomb pattern. The bottle-top shows an idyllic British country scene with a church, but it is fading and corroding... The bottom section is made from silver and a piece of printed tin from the lid of a honey jar and both are set with tiny brass bees which came from an abandoned jewellery factory in Birmingham.

Something beautiful to wear, inspired by some anonymous idiot who thinks it is OK to throw down waste in a field on the Sussex Downs.
