Tropical Escape Canteen by NVL upcycled quilted sleeve cosy and aluminum canteen water bottle with hardware and vintage buttons

I dont know about you, but I am one of those 'bottled water is a joke' nut jobs. I dont mind, and have used a vintage canteen for over a year.

I decided to make a case for it, and it was *so* popular, that others began asking. This lead me to this creation.

You can be eco friendly and sustainable with this canteen, Forget about plastic water bottles, when you have something that can last a lifetime and beyond.

Its made of a wonderful vintage inspired linen lend print, fully lined with a maroon cotton/linen blend. The fabric is quilted 1" squared with unbleached cotton batting. The buttons are vintage (1940s) but the case is closed by hook and bars sewn on. The case has a belt loop on back, removable hardware on the sides, and a front pocket large enough for an iPod (I checked).

I am a stickler for craftsmanship, and would only create things that I myself would use. My focus is sound construction, hiding stitches, and durability.

The new canteen is aluminum and can hold about 40 oz! It has an attached chain and a fiberglass top.

Each canteen holder I make will be hand designed, and a pattern crafted for that particular canteen. I plan to seek out good quality vintage canteens for reuse.

The canteen size is roughly 9" tall, 5 1/2" at its widest, and just shy of 3" deep. The strap for the holder is about 38" long, and the mouth of the canteen is about 1 1/2" in diameter.
