Bound by Calypso to serve aboard the Dutchman and fairy souls from this realm to the next and not to make port but once every ten year.

He awaited the moment to be with his beloved again and when the time came she was no where to be found.

Being the ever changing goddess of the sea, she could not be bound, even by her own promises. And so, in his anger and grief Davey Jones, had her bound in human form for a time, until she escaped and drown him into herself, into the sea together at last.
