Materials: "Golden Afternoon" ** Dyed Hardwood

One of my special custom colors, "Golden Afternoon" Dyed Hardwood is midday, sitting on the verandah, sipping some iced tea, watching the leaves in the trees lilt to the music of the wind, the sunlight making everything seem a bit more purple from that angle, an easy afternoon.

I hand-turned this hook from dyed and laminated hardwood that's been impregnated with resin and densified, thus made extremely strong and durable, and also resistant to temperature variations and moisture. This is one of my favorite color combinations, because besides choosing a variety of pinks and purples, I also chose Oak as one of the layers in the wood. This gives it a wonderful visual texture... yet, the entire hook is smooth as glass! Size K (6.5 mm), seven and three-quarter inches long. Heirloom quality.
