Description
This top-whorl spindle is a beautiful and unique way to make your own yarn. I make each spindle by hand and test each one for balance and spinability.The whorl is about 50mm across and made of Red Jasper. It's a beautiful warm reddish orange. It weighs 1.4 oz and is 9 inches long. The shaft is made out of wood and has a floral design lacquered on the top. The hook is brass plated and is sturdy enough so that it will not misshape if (or when) you drop it.
In folklore, red jasper is known to protect against hazards of the night. Red jasper is also supposed to be lucky for actors.
