Brand new for fall 2009! Just like real leaves each of these leaves are unique. Layered green enamels on sawed and hammered copper. The leaf is hammered to give a more three dimensional shape. Using a technique called "scraffito," the veins in the leaves are applied by hand. The enamel is high fired for a glossy finish and the back is counter enameled for durability. The pieces are created by sifting powdered glass in layers and firing the glass till it fuses for each color. This is glass on metal, and although not incredibly fragile, it does need to be handled with care like your other hand crafted jewelry! The chain is appx. 17" in length and sterling silver. You will receive this exact necklace as it is one of a kind.
