Diamonds Shadow Knitted Tam

Original Design

This soft, warm tam is knitted in two colors, a light peachy orange and a rust color, in a soft blend of wool and alpaca. It is made using the shadow (or illusion) knitting technique, which produces an illusive pattern, seen only from certain angles. This tam has a pattern of diamond shapes around its outer edge, and its crown is shaped in a short-row technique that produces a series of wedges. Other embellishments include chain stitches in alternating colors, and ribbing with an I-cord edging. The crown of the hat sports a jaunty tassel.

Dimensions: When flat, hat opening measures 9 ½ inches, but will stretch to over 12 inches; diameter of tam is approximately 11 ¾ inches.

Washing Instructions: Hand wash cool; dry flat.
