Description
The title says it all: lots of silk ruffles on the ends of a merino and bamboo felt scarf.Nuno felt, also known as laminated felt or nunofelt is the technique which binds silk (a non-felting fabric) to wool. Bamboo is also a non-felting fiber, but blended with merino, it adds luster, softness and flexibility to the felt. The tiny bamboo fibers create whorls of subtle shimmer in the felt.
The roving is handpainted, adding to the complexity and interest of this piece. Shades of autumn with a hint of rose are spread smoothly throughout the piece.
Ruffles for 15" (38cm) on each end of the scarf; total piece measures 84" x 4" (213cm x 10cm).
