Inspired by the bounty that the CSA food-share fairy brought last week, I bring you Squashed Pumpkin. This 2oz braid of soft, fine mohair was handpaited with professional quality acid dyes in butternuts, carnivals, and sugar pumpkins. Coincidentally, it is also the same colors as the flowers that decorate my stoop!Mohair has a nice long staple length, but it can be slippery to spin. It also takes color brilliantly with great sheen and luster.
