Frida Kahlo Doll OOAK

Description

This is truly a one-of-a-kind cloth doll as it is the only Frida Kahlo doll I will ever make! She is lovely sitting amongst pillows on a daybed, or hanging on a wall, or standing on a shelf. First, I drew and painted a Kahlo-esque figure on a piece of sandy beige cotton. I sewed that to another piece of cotton, turned it inside out and then stuffed it and painted it some more. Using a variety of beautiful fabrics and vintage lace I created a lovely costume which I think Frida herself would have worn! The garments are not removeable from doll, they are permanently handsewn on as a kind of fabric costume collage. Her shoes are edged with handsewn tiny vintage copper sequins. I made her a soft violin which she can hold or not to play some soft violin music. I like the naive quality of his doll. The height of this doll is 14&1/2 inches, and is signed and dated. She will be shipped to her new casa securely and insured.
