Description

This fabulous skull and crossbones statement necklace features layers of draped chain and vintage brass skull stamping custom enameled in soft glossy mauve. It has been shaded on the edges with black and purple enamel. It's not a lighting effect in the pictures, it's the actual coloring of the skull. Only the best for you, my dears.

The skull's eyes have been set with small gold flowers and brilliant sparkling royal blue rhinestones. The skull is centered on a vintage mint condition enamel flower from the 1960s. This enamel flower was put into storage just after it was created and has not seen the light of day until now. The enamel flower is radiant in pearly orchid. With a color so bright, it's hard to believe it's over 40 years old.

Vintage glass beads and chain drape from the flower and skull, connecting to a small enameled pendant. The draped chain layers flow with cuteness in shades of gold, purple and navy blue. The gold textured chain is from the 1970s. The glass beaded chain consists of vintage purple moonglow lucite and navy blue glass beads from Japan, circa 1960.
The small enameled pendant opposite the skull blooms with a small enamel flower in a coordinating shade of pink. The flower is adorned with a blue rhinestone to match the skull's eyes. The pendant is enameled in a rich shade of plum, and is distressed slightly.

The skull and flower assemblage is 3.25 inches in diameter (8.3 cm). The chain length around the neck through the shortest layer of chain is 21 inches (53.3 cm). Feel free to send me a convo if you need it to be shorter.

This necklace is called Ciruela Venenosa. Ciruela venenosa means poison plum in Spanish. For this necklace, I wanted to create a pastel color palette that had earthy and dark elements to give it some bite. I love the imagery of El Dia de los Muertos and I'm having a lot of fun creating my own take on the classic holiday's festivities.
