This bag is an organic jute tote screen printed with the image of a Great Egret.

Inspired by the beautiful Great Egrets along the Sapelo River and on Blackbeard Island I made a linoleum cut of the bird, printed it, then burned the image to a screen.

And out hatched a bag of course.

Roomy and sturdy this jute fabric looks like burlap - but has a soft feel - kind of like really nubby linen. Perfect for carrying a laptop, trips to the grocery, and days spent at the library. Also ideal to pack a picnic for a morning spent on Blackbeard Island.

20% of the sale from this bag will be donated to Blackbeard Island National Wildlife Refugee. In 1924 the island was placed under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Biological Survey to be maintained as a preserve and breeding ground for native wildlife and migratory birds... It is one of my (and many others) favorite places on earth.
