Porcelain Flower Flatback - Warm Sunshine

Description

This porcelain piece has been hand formed and sculpted. It has a central crater surrounded by many textured petals and the body of the pendant has been left unglazed. The central crater has been glazed with a matt ochre stoneware glaze and the petals have orange glass merging to dark pink in the middle. The edges of the crater and central details have been highlighted with bright gold lustre.

This piece is highly textured and sculptural and measures 1inch/2.5 cm long with a depth of 3/8 inches/1cm. It is unglazed and initialed on the back.

Totally unique and original, these pieces are based on my ceramic sculptures. I have been developing this technique for the past five years influenced by coral, geology and the inherent qualities of the clay itself.
