Fall Chrysanthemum Patch Hempcel Skirt

This stunning skirt is made from hempcel that I dyed sage. Hempcel is an amazing sustainable fabric with great drape and a favorite fabric of mine to wear. I also used rust, marigold, maroon, dark brown, golden brown, sky, cobalt, camel and dark green to make the applique. This applique took many hours to complete.

When I make my appliques I first draw free hand the design. I then transfer it to fabric, cut it out, and fuse it to the clothing. I then stitch it using a tight satin stitch. Each thread is hand tied to ensure that the thread will not unravel.

I added darts in the back and a drawstring waist that ties in the back.
