Autumn Butterfly Pendant - Fine Silver Necklace with Swarovski Crystal

Normally, one might see a butterfly here and there amongst the blooms, but in California, Fall brings the Monarch Butterflies South, to nestle in the pines along the beautiful Monterey Coast. Here, they overwinter in huge clusters, literally thousands of butterflies together, an absolutely magnificent sight. We look forward to our Pacific Grove trip every fall, as it brings us closer to the butterflies and to the beautiful blue sky that is their backdrop.

I couldn't help trying to recreate one of these beauties, in silver that can be enjoyed year round. I've paired it with a Swarovski Crystal of the prettiest sky blue.

This necklace is part of my Nature Collection, a series of designs reflecting the wondrous creations found in nature.

I have handcrafted this pendant of Fine Silver, the most precious form of Silver. Fine Silver is 99.9% pure silver and has a higher silver content than Sterling Silver, which is 9.25% silver. Unlike, Sterling Silver, Fine Silver is less prone to tarnishing, and will retain it's lovely shine with little or no effort.

The pendant measures approximately 1.25 x 1 inch (15.4 x 31.75mm) and comes with an 18 inch Sterling Silver chain.
