Clockwork Soul

Description

She was growing old. She felt it long before anyone else could see it. She had ruled a good long time. The lands were happy. At peace. Her advice was loved, her children, (grandchildren, great-grandchildren), many, her hair white.

And so she put a question to her four advisors - the ones she had made, in her youth, when power was easy and creation but a little thing.

"Where should I place my soul?" She asked.

"In a jewel. A lovely, priceless thing." Broochaise said.
"In a gear. A perfect ageless thing." Metalochin said.
"In a book. A wonderful, wise thing." Librariopus said.
"In a seed. A green growing thing!" Guardivy said - but she was overruled.

And so she did. She did all three, but she dared not do the fourth. She bound her soul into the gears, her gears into the book, her book into a necklace, amulet, jeweled thing, spangled with her glimmering soul. And she wore it close to her heart, always.

And there it remained, a good long time, even after she was already rich with years. And she aged, and she learned, and she became more of what she was.

And at the end of her times she decided her soul should be free to go, to bind its wisdom, beauty, knowledge to another. But first, she sealed it... until the right one should know it for what it was.

This tiny book holds 32 blank pages, sewn in 4 signatures. Wooden & clockwork accents (the back is wooden without clockwork - so it won't gouge your chest when you wear it!).
