you reap what you sew no. 1- in slate and wine
Description
This is the first in my new series "you reap what you sew".You reap what you sew no. 1 is embroidered in slate and wine on beautiful homespun linen that is between 80-120 years old. The embroiderer holds a needle and thread and is in the process of stitching another woman. The porcelain doll arm is from Germany and was dug from the earth from the grounds of an old doll factory that operated between 1890-1920. The piece is framed in a vintage metal embroidery hoop that is 9 inches wide and 4 3/4 inches tall. The piece is backed with wool felt and is signed and dated on the back. It hangs with a simple lace ribbon.
This is a made to order item. Please allow for slight variations and 4 days for me to make your embroidery prior to shipping. I will send photos of the completed piece prior to shipping to make sure the it is to your liking. If you'd like to change the color of the dresses please let me know.
If you'd like to read more about the history of the linen you can check out my blog post about it here: http://marysgranddaughter.blogspot.com/2009/06/look-what-i-found.html
