A few months ago whilst out on my usual scouting trips in the local thrift and charity shops with coffee breaks for cake and chat with my girlfriends, I found a grubby and broken little wooden ship..........I just fell head over heels in love with it and bought it straight away.

Taking it home I spent a painstaking week carefully cleaning it and mending the sails.....I think my grandfather would be very proud of the results..... as he made real ships in Chatham Dockyard.

Well since then it was sitting pride of place in my studio and each day I would look at it and smile.......... then I came across a wonderful painting of a little girl wearing a ship in her hair and that was it inspiration took over


This ship hat nestles on a sinamay base with a swirl on netting to create the waves and tiny floristry beads create the foam....... it has velvet ribbons which you can tie under the chin or at the back of the neck.....

This hat will make you the very talk of the town......the belle of the ball...... perfect for any beautiful burlesque lady ..... or as an early buy for Ascot Ladies Day next year

(It does not come with the pearl veil....that is a vintage snood worn over the face)
