Brunswick Bird Dry Point Etching

Description

Brunswick is another area of Melbourne. When I first arrived in Australia in November 2005 it was in Brunswick that I lived, and so it was in this area that I first got to know a lot of new (to me) Australian bird species.

Here is an etching of a typical brunswick house front roof with a bird perching on a wire. I'd say without a doubt that the bird was a spotted dove!

This is a dry point etching using a copper plate. It is printed in a mixture of turquoise and black ink with details rubbed over in black. The paper is highest quality 400gsm Hahnemulhe cotton rag paper. To know more about the process of making a hand pulled print please read my profile or see my bogpost on the subject.
