Wild Rose Necklace - Flower Fit For a Fairy

"Flowers Fit For a Fairy" is an article I wrote for Belle Armoire Jewelry magazine's 2009 Fall issue. "Wild Rose" is one of the three flowers featured in this article.

I handmade each flower from polymer clay, and created a cluster center with beads. Each flower was handpainted with many layers of paint and glazes to give them a vintage-shabby look. The necklaces are pure statement pieces, and though they are chunky, they are not heavy since they were made with polymer.

"Wild Rose" has peace jade beads in it's center and the 17" chain was twisted up with copper and faceted smoky glass beads. The pendant measures 2" x 2". It dons a handmade copper clasp.

PLEASE NOTE: the true color of the flower can be seen in the last picture from the magazine article. (for some reason my photos came out more purple, and TRULY they are rose!)
