She was passionate about insects.
Fascinated by the architectural structure of a praying mantis' anatomy.
Captivated by the iridescent shimmer of a beetle's back.
Mesmerized by the lacy detail of a dragonfly wing.
So she became an entomologist.
And she totally loved this necklace.

This cicada piece is...
sigh... amazing.

To me it absolutely showcases the insect within as a work of art. It is huge---2 1/2 inches tall, 2 inches wide, 3/4 inches thick. It is very vintage with a "Made in Korea" sticker on the back. It is heavy and well made--- a fantastic retro find. The red utterly glows and the cicada sparkles from within like rhinestones.

Topping the fabulous bug is an equally fabulous, very old, heavy, huge, rhinestone ball bead. it is 5/8 inches in diameter. It hangs from a lovely old watch piece, rather deco, with the initial "L" on it. Next is an array of amazing vintage metal beads, gemstone chunks and terrific old chain.

This show-stopper is 28 inches long with an additional 5 inches for the watch piece, rhinestone ball, and cicada bit.
