Walnut Three Wood Hairstick

I’ve always been a little jealous of women who have long, beautiful hair. There are so many elegant ways to arrange long hair. Sure, my short hair is easy to take care of, and a cinch to style…but sometimes I still yearn for unattainable lengthy locks. If you have the hair I’ve always wanted, and think those elegant up-dos are just a nuisance, try this pretty hairstick. I have almost no hairstyling ability, but even I can wind up long hair (of my wigs, like in the picture) into a bun, jab the stick through, and create a pretty look in seconds!

This lovely hairstick was hand-turned from birch on my wood lathe, sanded beautifully smooth, and finished with tung oil (so it’s smooth enough not to snag, but not so slick that it falls out). The decorative end incorporates a kingwood disk topped off by a hand-turned cap of East Indian Rosewood. These add elegance and interest, while the plainness of the woods themselves speaks of simplicity. All woods are naturally colored; no dyes, paints, or stains were used.
