Handmade Porcelain Lily Pad Buttons

Description

Here's a quintet of lovely lily pad buttons that would make a wonderful finishing touch for a handmade garment or bag.

I hand-formed the buttons from soft porcelain clay, since each was made individually there may be slight variations between buttons. The buttons are glazed on both sides with a wonderful glossy mottled green-brown (currently my favorite glaze :D). I sculpted an intrinsic shank onto the backs, so that the stitching to attach the button will be concealed.

Buttons measure approximately 7/8" (2.2cm) in diamter, less than 1/8" (<.3cm) thick and weigh under 1/8th of an ounce (2 grams) each. Buttons are washable, laundering suggestions will be included with purchase.
