Memory, Keepsake Quilt for you crafted from your fabrics or clothing

I have been privileged enough to make keepsake, or memory, quilts from baby clothes. These are some of my favorite projects and I'd love the opportunity to make one for you.

I prefer to use 4" or 5" fabric squares for these quilts. Either you can cut them ahead of time or you can send me the fabric and I can cut the squares. If there is a particular part of a piece of fabric you want used, such as an insignia or print, let me know ... it is my pleasure to work to accommodate your needs and wishes ... after all, this is your quilt to cherish for a lifetime.

While woven cottons are best suited for a quilt I can work with knits as well.

If you have a specific fabric you want to use for the backside (often a favorite twin sized sheet) that's great. No particular idea? That's great too, I'll be happy to shop for a coordinating solid for the back.

I can do either wavy or straight edges.

I use either organic cotton or a cotton/bamboo blend batting. All my binding is hand stitched on the backside to give a very polished professional appearance. Quilting stitching can be done a few different ways - random stippling, straight stitches, or tacking where the seams meet.

Quilts can run from crib sized (about 45" square) to lap size (about 50" by 65"). If you have a specific size in mind let me know.

Final price is determined after communicating with the purchaser. To give a basic idea, a crib or toddler bed sized quilt with straight edges and fabric cut by me would be priced from about $70, larger lap quilt pricing begins at $90.

The images here are a few examples of quilts I've made out of clothing. One has a pocket on the backside for a special blanket, and another has the quilting done to resemble a treasure map on the backside.
