Not all babies are shaped the same. Some have chunky thighs while others are skinny. Some moms like an extra long rise while others want a super trim fit. Now anyone can knit completely customized wool diaper covers using ONE pattern!
One pattern for all stages: Newborn through Toddler
One pattern for all seasons: Soakers, Shorties, and Longies

Not just for cloth diapering! Who says you have to use wool yarn to knit this pattern? I've used it several times to make cotton bloomers for my 5 year old daughter to wear under her dresses.

The “Munchkin Rumps Universal Soaker Pattern (xls)” is loaded with options for you to customize the look of your diaper covers. Enter your gauge. Enter your desired measurements and the program does the rest…well YOU have to knit it :)

With accommodations for both metric & English units (a.k.a. US customary units), you can use any weight wool yarn (even dk or bulky) and any size needles. Make them all the same or make each one different. You decide! Customized patterns can even be saved on new worksheets to record what you’ve made. The embedded formulas do not incorporate negative ease. That choice can be left up to the knitter.

You haven’t had your baby yet or want to make gifts for friends, so don’t have any measurements? That’s ok. The pattern file comes pre-loaded with four “ready-made” sizes from XS to L (approximately 0-12mos).

Diaper cover features ribbing in two strategic places; down the sides in order to ease the fit over cloth diapers and along the gusset for added absorbency. The side ribbing can be used down the legs of shorties or longies so as not to hamper your little one’s mobility.

Written for circular knitting, this pattern's difficulty is "intermediate". But, if you have never done short rows or Kitchener stitch, don’t worry. I include links to helpful web pages if you get stuck.

This pattern is written using Microsoft Excel, is approximately 150KB in size, and will be delivered via email to the address you provide to Etsy. The file can also be read and opened using Google documents and OpenOffice software. Please allow 24 to 48 hrs for delivery.
