Wood Fern Salt and Pepper Shakers
Description
These salt and pepper shakers are made of dark stoneware clay fired to cone 6. One of the shaker has more holes on the top. So you can use that one for salt or if you like more pepper, use it for pepper. The way you put salt or pepper in these is through a hole in the bottom. Each has its own cork. The corks fit snugly.The salt shaker is 3 1/4 inches tall. It measures 7 and 1/8 inches around at the widest section. The base spans 2 and 3/16 inches across.
The pepper shaker is 2 and 7/8 inches tall. It measures 7 and 1/4 inches around at its widest section. The base spans 2 and 3/16 inches across.
The outside of the shakers has been texturized with real leaves. They both were painted and rubbed with iron oxide before firing. All colors are permanent. There is no glaze on or inside these shakers.
The leaves on the salt shaker are intermediate wood fern, skunk meadow rue, nettle, eastern redbud, red maple, dogwood, golden raintree, tulip poplar and goldenrod.
The leaves on the pepper shaker are sassafras, valerian,
intermediate wood fern, forsythia, and agrimony.
