The Ameraucana chickens at Phoenix Farm are gorgeous birds with thick, brightly colored plumage. As they range freely about the farm they drop feathers. They also shed all their feathers every year as they molt.

This collection of 95 craft feathers in many different sizes, shapes and colors was gathered during the past few weeks at the farm. They are mostly from young birds. The measurements given are approximate.

Included are: 10 hackle feathers, the longest is 5". There are 15 feathers approx. 3"-4.5" long in dove gray with black shafts. The longest feather is an 8" tail feather that is black with green sheen. Many of the feathers are from the tail and body and include lots of colors like cream and rust, black and white and black and rust, with nice patterns like stripes, bars or speckles. Some have beautiful green irridescence. These feathers range in length from 2" for the shortest to over 4". Lots of fine feathers! ef4

The feathers have not been treated and show no signs of insect damage. If you wish to further protect your feathers shake them in a baggie with powdered borax, the bugs won't touch them.

Due to the free range nature of the chickens some feathers show signs of wear although I try to select the best plumes.
