Pink Pen with feather

Description

One pretty pink polymer clay covered pen.
And I tried something a little more fun with this one. I added a cute little polymer clay feather on a short piece of cord at the end.

Covered in polymer clay in the style of Mokume Gane.
Many layers of metallic clays have been fused together along with a bit of gold leaf, then the whole stack is compressed, distorted, embossed and recompressed until this pattern of faux berl wood is achieved.
Then thin sheets are sliced off and applied to the barrel of a pen, baked to cure, then sanded and buffed.

Previous pens I've made I would polish with an acrylic sealer. Well I have found that with use, those get dull. Polish really isn't needed. The highly sanded surface is fine as it is and seems to work much better for something that gets handled as much as a pen.

These are inexpensive papermate Eagle pens. To refill your pen, pick up a pack of these and carefully remove the end. (Grasp PLASTIC part with a needle nose pliers. Do not grab the tip.) Pull that out and simply insert a new one.

These pens will last for years.
