Natural cream wool felt throw with pom poms

These felt pieces are made using ancient and new techniques. The felt throws are made of alpaca, wool, and lincoln longwool. Lincoln longwool is one of the four English longwool breeds. The lincoln is rare around the world and is globally endangered. The wool is long and lustrous and is a beautiful wool to work with.

This felt throw is made from wool fleece that I got from a shepherd in Tennessee. The curly white locks from this sheep are very similar to mohair.

I clean and pick the wool that I then needle felt with other natural colored alpaca fibers and wool and then finish by wet felting.

This throw has a nice soft hand and is very fluid. I've embellished the throw with five pom poms. Four are made of a kid mohair yarn and one is made of very soft merino lace weight yarn.

This piece measures 36 inches by 48 inches.
