Set of 4 Handpainted Ceramic Plates- Flora and Fauna

Description

A set of four primitive hand-painted pottery plates painted with four different scenes. Each plate has a terra cotta background and the animals and flowers are a dark green with white borders. Tropical birds, deer, fish and beautiful floral and leaf designs cover the front of each plate. There is a clear glaze on the tops and bottoms. Unmarked and of unknown origin. They have a Central or South American feel to them but the designs are more detailed than most pottery I've seen from those regions. Each plate measures 7 5/8" (190 mm) in diameter. Minor edge chipping on three plates that do not detract from the overall design. I would recommend these for decorative use only.
