The name "mokume gane" came from a Japanese metalworking technique which uses layers of metal. Polymer clay artists have adapted this technique to create beautiful effects, such as in these bold and beautiful earrings.* Three layers of polymer clay (tangerine orange, subdued lime and white) are layered in a stunning square design.
