Midnight Linen Sashiko Purse
Description
Sashiko is a Japanese traditional hand quilting method. Sashiko was used for the farmers to make their clothes more durable and warmer a long time ago. Even now, we enjoy Sashiko stitches. This time, I did a lot of Sashiko stitches (hand stitches) for both sides of the tote (there is no quilting batting) with red, sand, and ivory colored threads.
The body fabric is midnight black colored linen and lining is black cotton fabric.
For the magnet snap, I reinforced the fabrics , so they would not be torn after many times using. I made buttonholes with many layers of fabrics and sewed them down to protect from tearing the body fabrics.
For the pockets, I put fusible interfacing to reinforce the fabrics.
It has
-a zipper pocket inside
-a open pocket to hold your cell phone
-a magnet snap to close it tightly
The fabrics are all prewashed.
This is one-of-a-kind tote. Enjoy something Japanese.
Approximate size : 12" (30.5cm) X 14.5" (37cm)
the length of the handle 24" (61cm)
