Collage Pillow, Coney Island Girl 'Maria'

In this collage pillow lives my Coney island girl Maria. Her specialitly is dancing like a fairy. She can twirl around so long it seems like forever.

For my LeiLiLaLoo fall collection I have made a series of 9 big pillows inspired by real stories and by my own fantasies from the early days on Coney Island. Bohemian and rawness are the words popping up in my head thinking of those days.

I machine embroirered her on grey colored linen fabric with black thread. She has a tutu made of pink sequins. With the machine embroidery I tried to get across the feel of a flairy ink drawing. The back of the pillow is made from creme colored corduroy. They are all shaped like a house and on top I have sewn a tassel for the bohemian touch.

It's a bigger pillow then i usually make, it meassures 13" x 22"
