a lovely and lyrical necklace with a whimsical secret, the pendant is actually a working music box!a small knob on the back will wind the music and a tiny switch allows you to turn the music off and on at will
the vintage Japanese music box features an etched scrolled leaf design in both gold and silver tones
chunky vintage links in alternating silver and gold tones connect the music box to a long vintage mesh chain
the name of the song played by the music box is eluding me but is quite reminiscent to the Scottish folk song "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean"
if you're interested in showcasing the inner workings of the piece for a somewhat steampunk style, the lid of the music box can be removed and left behind...
the music box measures 1.5" long (including bail) 1.25" wide and .5" deep
