FREE POST - Transparent Sliced Agate and Soloman Ebony Hair Stick

I love the way that light moves through a slice of agate.

This piece has blues and browns through it, as well as crystal clear sections. It also has a hole in the middle! (no extra charge for the hole.)

The timber part of the stick is just over 5.5 inches long, with a useable length of just over 5 inches. The total stick, including the agate, is just over 8 inches long.

The agate is semi transparent, and when the sun is behind it, glows beautifully. You are sure to get comments when you wear it!

Queen Ebony, also called Solomon ebony, is one of the hardest timbers on the planet. It is grown in the Solomon Islands. It is so hard that it takes me four times as long to make one of these as it does a hair stick from a softer timber.

It starts a very dark brown, and goes pitch black over time.

The stick is made by me, on my lathe in my backyard, and please excuse the photos of my hands - that's what happens when you deal with wood and glue all day!
