Lace Doily Sauce Bowls

Description

This set of two sauce bowls is made of recycled window glass and features two hand-painted lace doilies in delft blue and white.

Each bowl is 5.5" diameter (14cm)

I hand-paint the lace doily motifs using traditional glass enamels, similar to porcelain paints or ceramic glaze. They heat to 1300 degrees F, and they fuse permanently to the glass. The image will never scratch or fade.

The glass in this dish is 100% recycled window glass, salvaged from a discarded window pane. Unlike glass bottles, sheet glass is not recycled by most municipal recycling programs and otherwise ends up in landfills.

All my glass dishes are strong and durable. I anneal the glass in a kiln for up to ten hours to give it maximum strength. They are also food-safe (free of toxic metals) and dishwasher-safe.
