Ceramic Hanging Hummingbird Feeder Thrown Pottery Style in Purplelicious

Description

This is a ceramic style hanging hummingbird feeder in purplelicious. The pottery style birdfeeder is slip cast from a ceramic mold, the inside has been glazed with a non-toxic glaze, the outside is glazed with a bright crystal tone purple glaze. The purple glaze does have some specks of black and large bursts of white in it, so it is not a solid purple color.

The humming bird feeder measures approximately 4 1/2" diameter at the widest point, it is approximately 6 1/2" long without the feeding tube.

Your feeder will come equipt with a feeder end, it fits snuggly in the bottom of the feeder so the birds can obtain the nectar. The feeder holds 3 cups (24 oz.) of nectar. Be sure to completely fill your feeder with nectar when you place the feeder end into the feeder and turn it upright it will cause a vaccumn keeping your nectar from dripping. The feeder has a built in loops for easy hanging, a decorative brass chain is included so all you need to do is fill and hang it. The brass chain is strong and durable.

A hummingbird nectar recipie is also included.

Do you want more hummingbirds in your yard? A tip for attracting hummingbirds is "the more feeders, the more birds." For an average yard, 7 to 10 feeders spaced apart will work best. This keeps the dominant hummingbird from ruling the roost. Hummingbirds will feed more during their southward migration than northern migration, this is due to breeding season. Consistant feeding year after year will attract generations of hummingbirds. The key to attracting hummingbirds to a new feeder is have them up when hummingbirds first arrive. April and May are normally good target dates.
