Alice gave her guest Sandra the tour of her family's Devonshire estate.
"This is the stables, Sandra. We can ride tomorrow, if you like. You'll love the view- everyone says it's very fine. See?"
"Can I help you, Miss Alice?" asked Joe, the stablehand, looking up from where he was deftly grooming an Arab stallion. With the back of his hand he wiped the sweat from his chiselled brow onto the taut thigh of his skintight jodhpurs.
"No, no," said Alice sweetly. "We're just admiring the scenery..."

Lovely pattern from Vogue for a neat dress and jaunty little jacket:
"Four-piece flared skirt joins bodice at waistline. Open V-neckline below narrow collar. Cap sleeves. Fitted jacket with collarless neckline. Flaps simulate pockets. Short kimono sleeves with cuffs."

All pattern pieces and instructions are present and correct. Pattern pieces, like all Vogue patterns of this period, are pre-cut to size and unprinted, with markings indicated by perforations (explained in the instructions). Pattern pieces and instructions have a few marks in colored pencil from a previous owner, but are otherwise in good usable condition.

The envelope is in good general condition, with minor tears to the corners.
