Lichen for your Wall 11 (6 inch)

Description

This lichen is inspired by the kind I used to find on the rocks where I grew-up in California.

This lightweight piece consists of a 6 inch wooden embroidery hoop with a medium gray cotton fabric. I then embroidered french knots in four colors onto the fabric: bright spice red, light green, chartreuse and yellow. The french knots are small and large, tight and loose for a subtle difference in texture. After completing the embroidery, I securely glued the fabric to the inside of the hoop with craft glue.

Since this piece is small and intimate, I think it would be lovely in a reading nook, next to a work area or in a group.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS PIECE IS MADE WITH KONA COTTON, A DIFFERENT BUT SIMILAR FABRIC TO THE FABRIC I HAD BEEN USING.

Each is one-of-a-kind.
