Grey and red marbled vintage lucite beads - they're fabulous!! The big lucite rounds are 12 mm. I have used red seed beads and small sterling rounds as spacers. All sterling findings and sterling clasp.

Length appr. 45.5 cm/17.52.

This necklace coordinates with my Hotlips earrings.

Vintage lucite was a high quality plastic manufactured in the 1950s and 1960s as an alternative to the more expensive plastic called bakelite. It was used to replace glass and gemstones in jewelry while maintaining quality without the high cost and weight of more expensive materials. It has a luscious shine and feel to it that makes it very different from modern plastic. Although more substantial than other plastic beads, it is surprisingly light weight. Vintage lucite beads are often extremely chunky, yet they won’t weigh down a necklace made entirely of it. Most lucite beads are seamless.
