I have always been fascinated by the old cigarette ads especially in the 50's and 60's. They were so convincing, so attractive, and sooooo DECEPTIVE! I quit smoking four years ago and I sometimes wish I lived in a time where we were expected to smoke! Then I wake up and I come back to reality! So I put these images in some of my work and this painting is an expression of that bygone era! The ad was titled "Luckies Taste Better... because their TOASTED" mmmmmmmmmmmmm! Cough Cough!

The television is a representation of our 1958 RCA color TV and the painting is an interpretation of a mid-century painting I bought at an auction years ago. So I added some starbursts and lots of pink to evoke a feeling of these modern, atomic times.

This painting is painted with the highest quality acrylics on professional grade gallery wrapped canvas mounted on heavy duty stretcher bars. The painting is also sealed with several coats of varnish for protection.
