Walnut Pack Flat Wool Combs with Maple Inlay
Combs for the ultimate in portability!

These wool combs are entirely handmade by my Dad, Emile (Emmy) Nolet--even the tines are cut to length and ground to points by hand. He has been a woodworker for over 35 years and the combs are stamped with "EMMY" and the date finished.

Pack Flat Combs have been designed primarily for handheld use and have removable handles for easy storage & portability. A dovetail joint provides a secure fit between head & handle when assembled. We've tried to strike a balance between being as lightweight as possible and still being able to process a good amount of fiber at a time. They have been designed with flat handles so that they can be easily clamped to a table for those times you need an extra hand. Flat handles eliminate the need for a table clamp--any C-style clamp will do--and reduce slippage both when clamped and when used in the hand giving better control.
Comes complete with:
~ one pair of Pack Flat Combs in walnut with maple inlay
~ pine press-fit tine covers
~ 2" clamp (not shown)

They are double row (2 pitch) combs and the comb heads are 3 1/2" wide with 4" long stainless steel tines. Each comb weighs approximately 6 oz. When packed flat the set is only 10" long, 6 1/2" wide, 2" thick, and weighs 1 1/4 lb, or less than a pound if you leave the clamp at home!

Please use care and extreme caution when using wool combs. ALWAYS make sure the comb is securely clamped before use. Do not leave combs unattended without protective covering or where young children or pets can come into contact with them as the steel tines are extremely sharp and can cause serious injury.
