La Bella Principessa

I tend to name most of my necklaces after poems or novels, but I simply had to name this one after the newly rediscovered da Vinci painting that's been in the news lately, both because the necklace has a wonderfully Renaissance feel and because I think that the story of the painting's rediscovery is just so darned cool.

Composed of two strands of wonderfully patinaed antiqued brass chain with a huge, faceted green glass briolette as the centerpiece, this necklace is strangely ornate yet simple, as though you might find it gracing the neck of a the Duke of Milan's daughter when she didn't want to be too showy.

The shorter chain measures a little over 17 inches, and the whole is finished off with a bronze colored toggle clasp. A truly beautiful piece to discover for yourself.

***N.B. The glass briolette is actually clearer than it appears in the photos, and reflects light quite beautifully when worn.***
