Black Sekmeht Mask...Handmade Egyptian Lioness Leather Mask

This is a third mask in my "Egyptian Mythos" series; Sekmeht.

This mask is made entirely of 8 oz leather. The mask (my own design, based on antiquity) is hand carved & shaped by hand without the use of molds or forms; each one is an original sculpture. It is stiffened with heat & painted with colorfast waterproof Liquitex Acrylics in black and gold. The gold is not gold leaf, but Liquitex Bright Gold, which retains elasticity (if the mask is flexed, the paint does not crack or flake). I seal the entire mask with a clear coat acrylic, for durability.

The mask comes with a leather tab for hanging & black organza ties for wearing. Signed, dated original.

Sekmeht was the Egyptian goddess of war & chaos, & she was depicted as a lioness. Girl Power!
