Ornithology Plate series - The Blackbird - LIMITED EDITION

Description

This is a limited edition print of my original digital art-work.
It measures approximately 8 x 10.25 inch (or approx. 20x26cm) and is professionally printed (not on an ink jet!)fade and smudge proof-on 300grams paper with a small white edge so it's ready to be framed.

I am fascinated by the old fashioned ornithology books. This lead me to placing the birds in the same setting. Ancient Plate version 2009.
My first bird in this style is the black bird. Still with a lovely MirthQuake story explaning the character of this cutie:

Together with my pal the blackbird I am taking a break from illustrating. He just enjoyed the leftovers of my lunch. And now we’re having a moment together. With some friends you don’t have to speak to know exactly what’s on the other one’s mind. Around us a couple of blue tits are making a fuss over nothing, but we don’t care. He’s sitting outside, a few meters away from me. I am inside because I don’t have a coat like he does. With one leg up he stretches his wings and rearranges his feathers telling me it’s time to get back to work. He hops off the fence into the yard and gets to work. He’s right, I finish my tea. We’ll meet again, same time - same place, tomorrow.

I love to recreate animals and especially birds. No matter where I am, I try to capture their caracter and lifestyle. When I get home I translate it into art-work. You'll receive a MirthQuake Bird Certificate with the artwork.
