Ameraucana Chicken 42 Craft Feathers Natural Sheds Gray White Black Rust

The Ameraucana chickens at Phoenix Farm are gorgeous birds with thick, brightly colored plumage. As they range freely about the farm they drop feathers. They also shed all their feathers every year as they molt. All these feathers were collected as they were naturally dropped from the birds.

This set of 42 craft feathers was gathered during the past few weeks at the farm. They are from young and mature birds. The measurements given are approximate.

The longest feather is 8.75" and the shortest is 2 1/8". There are 7 tail feathers including 3 long plumes, 13 secondary flight feathers and 2 primary feathers and 17 covert feathers that are about 3" - 4" long. The colors include dove and dark gray, white, cream, black and medium to rust brown. Some have a beautiful green sheen. There are nice speckles and bars on some plumes. Lots of fine feathers! ef5

The feathers have not been treated and show no signs of insect damage. If you wish to further protect your feathers shake them in a baggie with powdered borax, the bugs won't touch them.

Due to the free range nature of the chickens some feathers show signs of wear although I try to select the best plumes.

PLEASE NOTE: some states and countries restrict the importation of feathers. It is your responsibility to know the import laws for your locality. Orders for feathers to restricted areas will be canceled.
