Carnivale - felted, beaded and embroidered necklace

Description

Carnivale is a vibrantly colourful soft felt necklace in a burst of rich reds, yellows, oranges, blues, greens and purples. I made the colourful felt piece from silk tops, merino roving, cotton nepps and silk ribbon, and then embellished the surface with hand embroidery and glass beads.

Carnivale is backed with black felt, which makes the whole piece flexible and very lightweight. Her edges are whip-stitched in vibrant amethyst-purple embroidery cotton.

Carnivale's antiqued brass chain measures 16" approximately in total (so 8" either side), and closes with a lobster clasp. Her felt measures 3 1/4" x 1" (8cm x 2.5cm).
