Mahogany, Vintage Leather Journal
Description
This is a strong, firm journal made from a vintage purse. Unlike my other vintage journals that are made from parts of vintage bags, this time I turned the entire bag into a journal. It even has the label marked on a side. All edges and shapes are original, except for the sewing around the edges which I remade due to the fact that the original one was in poor state. Its design is minimalist, but the overall looks simple and classy, exactly as the journal that you can take everywhere with you.The leather is very thick and in very good condition. It has a few marks and scratches, and the antiqued appearance of the old leather, but its perfectly healthy. I also made a preventive consolidation on it to enhance its flexibility. On the inside the suede is perfectly clean and was well cared for.
The journal measures 21.5 x 13.5 cm (8.5 x 5.3 inches). The paper inside is light peach color, thick (180 g/m²), and will work for both writing and sketching in dry media.
The binding is longstitch, made with black linen thread. The book has around 72 pages (144 sides).
This journal is an art object. You will definitely love it once you’ll meet it.
