Vintage Wooden Keepsake Box with Inlaid Stringing

Description

This beautiful vintage wooden box has sloping embellishments on the sides and stringing (inlaid lines of wood) on top. It would make a great trinket or jewelry box, or could be used for holding letters, supplies, or other goodies. The wood is a little darker on top and slightly honey colored on the front. The stringing has a diamond and bar pattern with light and dark wood. The box has a knob on the front and hinges that are "stapled" into the wood (little bent points inserted), rather than nailed. This is the original finish, I believe.

This box is in very good vintage condition, with some wear to the finish but few scratches and no damage. The lid is slightly askew but the hinges are secure. Someone wrote on the bottom.

Size: about 11 1/2 wide inches (at the bottom), 6 inches deep, and 3 inches tall (29.2 x 15.2 x 7.6 cm)
